The Tenerife property market is a strong one and has been for 20 years. There is already a massive expat community throughout Tenerife and if you are that way inclined, there are areas where the British community is so strong that you can feel you were still in the UK with much improved weather conditions. At the other extreme there are areas that are predominately Spanish communities where you would need to speak at least the basics of the language to get by. However, there are many places where the two cultures meet and blend easily, with typical English bars offering fried breakfast and pints for a Euro sitting comfortably next to traditional Spanish tapas bars.
