FUERTEVENTURA

Most of the towns, even the major tourist resorts retain more than just a glimpse of their past, there are numerous quaint streets and traditional fishing ports and no shortage of culture and heritage.

Fuerteventura's main draw however is its climate and its seemly endless sandy beaches. The island is a sun seekers paradise, and with a climate similiar to that of florida its no surprise the island is drawing people in their thousands.

The island also offers tremendous investment opportunities as house prices are much lower than in Tenerife or Gran Canaria. This puts the island in the reach of so many more people who are seeking to either migrate or buy a second home in the sun.

FUERTETEVENTURA INFORMATION

Fuerteventura is located just 200Km from the cost of Morocco, and is the second largest of the Canary Islands. Characterised by long sandy beaches and quiet unspoilt Canarian villages, fuerteventura is regarded by many as the "up and coming" island. The major developments and improvements in infrastucture seem to support this theory.

There are a handful of popular tourist resorts on the island, these include Corralejo and El Cotillo in the North, Calleta del Fuste in the East and Morro Jable in the South. The new Fuerteventura Golf Development near Caleta del Fuste has generated significant interest in the east.

The other major towns like the capital Puerto del Rosario have grown from traditional roots, the capital is now a small industrial town and the islands major port. Antigua in contrast retains its tradtional appeal dominated by an 18th century canarian church and classic molino (windmill).
